I experienced this my first year at Boyce College (at Southern Seminary). Blaise Pascal shared in this experience too from what I understand and sewed this note in his jacket afterwards so he would never forget it. The note said something to this effect "Fire, fire, fire! Not the God of the philosophers, but the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." The lack of this experience after having tasted it can be a cause of spritual depression (like Elijah soon after his Mt. Carmel experience). But, it has also been of great assurance to me if difficult times of faith. Thanks for sharing it. I read this with great joy! Nothing really changed, and yet the impact of being in His presence this day was so great." Your day was something special, this time around....and here is why it was so. Every so often we enter into prayer not really certain about the outcome of such requests. The hectic pace of our lives usually leaves our prayers to the moments that seem fleeting. We know God loves us...BUT, we somehow seem to beleive He may be just to busy to take our call. Then there are those times like your morning conversation with God. A time when you truly were open to be willing to learn something, to listen to the class instruction, to follow the outcomes of your day and gather in the Good News available to you right here and right now. In other words, God is always "moving your heart, BUT, we rarely take the time to listen to the response because of those "other things" into which we take interest. Little do we realize how many times The Father's response patiently repeats itself waiting for us to catch a clue of its presence. You're a very special, gifted, honest, and sincere person to have taken the time, on this day, to learn how truly connected you are with The One (God) that loves you so....always. Each and everyone of us lives with a certain version or vision for how we THINK love and life with God is supposed to work. In many ways we simply can't help believing the way we do because, after all, that is how we've been taught to believe. Eventually, all persons come to a place where the phrase "Lord, teach me" is spoken, in some genuine measure or form, We turn on the love light within to see what is truly available for us to genuinely appreciate, understand, and ultimately love the relationship with have with what is truly great in Love.....God. You're a good man....keep listening there is sooo much more.
