More House Keeping- My Testimony and an Interesting Discussion

This weekend I am trying to do a little bit of revamping and adding stuff to the blog that I have been meaning to do for awhile (read, “my wife is out of town so I’m lonely and bored”). One of those things was to add to my ‘Author’ page shortcuts to the posts I did earlier in the year detailing my testimony from birth to the present. This I have done and it can be viewed by accessing here.

Also, I wanted to share a post and particularly the discussion following a post which I think is very interesting. The post appears on the Ignite UK Pastors’ Blog. This is the blog run by a church plant my wife and I worked with in Lexington, KY which was started on the campus of the University of Kentucky (hence the ‘UK’). The main contributer is Pastor Jonathon Woodyard, though occasionally other people post here as well (like myself).

The most recent post on this blog is entitled “Santa Claus or Santa ‘Christ’!” and deals with the issue of whether or not a Christian parent should tell their child that Santa Claus is real. The post is good, but I have found the ensuing discussion in the comments to be equally intriguing. Please, if you have time, take a look at this and join in with your opinion (cause come on, you know you have one!).

Thanks for plugging us…..we love the publicity.

I have not had time to join in the Tony Jones debate and read much on that. I want to…..my computer does not do well on that site and it take forever to navigate the page and comment. I guess I am just impatient.

You going to be in Lexington over Christmas?

I stayed with the Tony Jones stuff for awhile, but about a week and a half in I realized that it wasn’t really going anywhere. After he made his initial posts, he then just started highlighting the most ridiculous caricatures and false claims against the conservative position as his “Comments of the Day” and people fell in line with them like sheep. When you first made me aware of this I was interested, but I think the two posters wound up dropping the ball on something that could have been beneficial to the debate.

We will be back in town on the 20th, so we plan on being at Porter and Ignite on Sunday the 21st. I think we will be at Porter on Sunday the 28th as well before returning to Florida. Maybe the stork will drop by early (ha ha) and we can meet your little guy before we go home.
